Service & Process

What is epoxy grout and how is it different from cement grout?
Epoxy grout is a two-part resin-based grout that is non-porous, stain-proof, and highly resistant to mold and bacteria. Unlike traditional cement grout which absorbs water and discolours over time, epoxy grout maintains its colour and integrity for 15+ years. It's ideal for Singapore and Malaysia's humid climate.
How long does the application process take?
Most bathroom or kitchen projects are completed within 1 working day. Full home packages (kitchen + 2 bathrooms) typically take 1–2 days depending on the total area and complexity. We'll confirm the exact timeline during the free site inspection.
What brands of epoxy grout do you use?
We use premium professional-grade epoxy grout from trusted brands including Ardex, Sika, Mapei Kerapoxy, and Laticrete. The specific brand may vary based on availability, tile type, and joint width. All brands we use are industry-leading and come with manufacturer warranties.
Is Mapei Flexcolor CQ the same as Kerapoxy CQ?
No — and the shared "CQ" in the name causes real confusion. Flexcolor CQ is Mapei's ready-mixed, single-part grout that comes ready to use from a tub. It is convenient, but it is not an epoxy. Kerapoxy CQ is the true two-part epoxy: resin and hardener mixed on site in small batches against the pot life, worked into the joints, then cleaned and de-hazed before it sets. The "hazing risk" and "small batch mixing" you may read about online describe two-part epoxy — and that is exactly how we work, which is why every epoxy job carries our 5-year written warranty (Ultracolor Plus areas carry 2 years, silicone 1 year). CLEANGROUT applies Mapei Kerapoxy (or equivalent two-part epoxy from Ardex or Sika), never ready-mixed grout.
Do you remove the old grout before applying epoxy?
Yes. Our standard process includes removing existing grout, thorough cleaning and preparation of the tile joints, application of epoxy grout, and final cleanup. Proper removal is essential for adhesion and longevity of the new epoxy grout.
Why do small tiles like kit-kat or mosaic cost more to grout?
Because small tile is mostly joint. Grouting cost follows metres of joint, and joint density is set by tile size: a 600×600 floor carries about 3.3 m of joint per m², but a 150×50 kit-kat wall carries about 27 m per m² — eight times the filling work in the same area. The rate per metre is identical; small-format surfaces simply contain far more metres. That is also why a feature wall can cost more than a whole bedroom floor.
Are skirting joints included?
Yes. The floor-to-skirting junction and the joints between skirting pieces are covered by the perimeter component of our published tariff — no extra charge, in every room we grout.
Is a new BTO the best time to do epoxy grout?
Yes — it is the cheapest moment your flat will ever have for this. With tiles laid but joints still open there is no old grout to remove, which is the slowest stage of the work, so new-BTO jobs price roughly 40% below re-grouting. And because nobody has moved in yet, the 4-day wait before showers can be used costs you nothing.
Can each room have a different grout colour or material?
Yes. The rule is one colour and one material per continuous surface — colour can change at a doorway or where floor meets wall, never mid-floor. Each bedroom, bathroom, backsplash and feature wall can be different, and the price is the same in every colour. Confirm your final choices about 3 days before the works date, because epoxy cannot be tinted on site — we bring the exact tubs.
Can I choose my grout colour?
Absolutely. We offer 40+ colours across all our brand partners. You can preview colours on our website, and we provide physical sample swatches for approval before beginning any work. Custom colour matching is also available on request.

Curing & Aftercare

How long does epoxy grout take to cure / dry?
Three numbers to remember: walk on it after 24 hours, showers and water contact after 4 days, full chemical cure in about 7 days. During the first 24 hours the treated area must not be walked on, used, or exposed to water at all. Exact timing depends on the brand, temperature, humidity and joint depth — we confirm the specific times for your job on completion. Tip: in a new BTO before move-in, the 4-day water wait costs you nothing.
What happens if I walk on the grout before it's fully cured?
Walking on, using, or allowing water contact with uncured epoxy grout can cause permanent damage including cracking, discolouration, uneven surfaces, or delamination. Any damage caused by premature use of the treated area during the curing period is the client's responsibility and is not covered under our warranty or eligible for touch-ups, refunds, or rework. We strongly advise all household members, tenants, and visitors to stay away from treated areas until the curing period has elapsed.
How should I maintain epoxy grout after curing?
Epoxy grout is very low maintenance. Simply clean with a mild detergent and soft cloth or mop. Avoid abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or harsh chemicals (e.g. bleach-based products) on the grout lines. For best results, wipe up spills promptly and avoid dragging heavy or sharp objects across the grouted surface.
Can I enter the room while the grout is drying?
No. We strongly advise against entering, using, or allowing any foot traffic in the treated area during the 24–48 hour curing window. This includes pets and children. If you need access to other parts of your home, please plan accordingly before the service date. We are not liable for any damage resulting from premature access to the treated area.

Pricing & Warranty

What does the price include?
Our package prices include: removal of existing grout, surface preparation and cleaning, professional application of premium epoxy grout, final cleanup, and our service warranty. Prices are based on standard tile sizes and joint widths. Non-standard configurations may incur additional charges, which will be communicated during the quote.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
A 50% deposit confirms your booking and reserves the date. The balance is due on completion, after a joint walkthrough of the finished work with the photo record of every joint — you inspect before you pay the balance.
Is there a discount for neighbours grouting together?
Yes — the block rate. When two or more units in the same block book works within the same fortnight, every unit pays less: 2 units get 5% off each, 3 or more get 8% off each, on top of the published tariff or any package. One trip serves everyone, and the saving is passed on. Best single discount applies — discounts do not stack.
Do you offer refunds?
Due to the nature of our service (materials are custom-mixed and labour is performed on-site), all confirmed bookings are non-refundable once work has commenced. Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the scheduled date may receive a partial refund of the deposit at our discretion. Please review our full Terms & Conditions for details.
What does the warranty cover?
Our warranty covers defects in workmanship and material failure under normal use conditions. This includes cracking, discolouration, or delamination that occurs under normal residential use. The warranty does NOT cover damage caused by: premature use during curing, impact or physical damage, use of abrasive/chemical cleaners, renovations or modifications after our service, or natural settling/movement of the building structure.
Is the site inspection really free?
Yes, the initial site inspection and quotation are completely free with no obligation. We'll assess your tile type, grout condition, total area, and recommend the best solution. You only pay if you decide to proceed.

Scheduling & Service Areas

What areas do you serve?
Singapore island-wide — HDB, condo, landed and commercial. In Malaysia we work regularly in Johor and Iskandar: Taman Daya, Bukit Indah, Nusajaya, Mount Austin, Eco Botanic and around. Further into Malaysia we will come, but only by arrangement, because it stops being a day trip.
How do I book a service?
You can book via WhatsApp (tap the "Enquire Now" button), fill out the quote form on our website, or message us directly. We'll arrange a free site inspection at your convenience, provide a detailed quote, and schedule the work at a time that suits you.
Do you work on weekends?
Yes, we operate 7 days a week including weekends and public holidays (subject to availability). Weekend and holiday slots tend to fill up faster, so we recommend booking early to secure your preferred date.

Pick your rooms and tile sizes and get a fixed price, itemised, with no form to fill in first. Grout is priced by metres of joint, so a 300×300 floor costs about twice a 600×600 floor the same size — the calculator does that maths for you.
